Carved into the Malibu hillside, The Obsidian Villa challenges the traditional notion of “coastal living.”
Designed by the visionary studio behind the famed Concrete Series, this residence is a masterclass in material purity. The structure is composed of sand-blasted black concrete, floor-to-ceiling obsidian-framed glass, and reclaimed teak.
The home is oriented to the winter solstice, ensuring that light interacts with the brutalist angles in a way that shifts seasonally, turning the living volume into a functional sundial.
